I am always looking for ways to collaborate and to bring together my own diverse interests and people whom I admire and want to be around. Many of the things that I am currently deeply involved in began merely as ideas, then projects, and now are a regular part of my life. Let’s work together on something! The M.U.S.I.C. Exchange

An organization currently in its first year, The M.U.S.I.C. Exchange — Musically Uniting Students In Correspondence — seeks to use the platform of music to bring together students and musicians of diverse backgrounds. In March of 2009, The M.U.S.I.C. Exchange will present its first collaborative concert, a performance uniting students from PS 153, the Long Island City High School, the International Rescue Committee’s student refugee program, and musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas. House concerts

In December of 2007, I performed in my first New York City house concert, and discovered a niche that seems particularly well-suited to my beliefs about performance. I love the intimacy of performing for a small audience in a personal space. Venues like this invite a dialogue between the artist and audience, and I enjoy the chance to speak with the audience both from the “stage” and also after the performance. More …

Art gallery concerts

I have always been interested in bringing together artists and academics from different disciplines, and am particularly struck by the polarity within the arts themselves. So many musician friends of mine are not interested in visual art – and many because they feel like they “don’t get it,” while many visual artist friends of mine (not to mention theater-friends and dancer-friends and, of course, academic-friends) scarcely ever attend classical concerts for the same reason. And yet – fundamentally I believe that all artists are trying to do the same thing.
